Position Overview : *
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. The CVT will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to animals and supporting veterinarians in day-to-day clinical operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This role involves both hands-on clinical duties and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the veterinary clinic.
- Responsibilities : *
- Assist veterinarians in medical procedures, surgeries, and dental care.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized animals, including administering medications and treatments.
- Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasounds) and analyze lab results.
- Handle and restrain animals safely for exams and procedures.
- Educate pet owners on wellness care, medical conditions, and treatment plans.
- Administer vaccines, medications, and IV fluids as directed by the veterinarian.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to both patients and clients.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's individual needs, taking into consideration medical history, diagnostic results, and client preferences.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all aspects of patient care and client communication to ensure continuity of care and legal compliance.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current on advancements in veterinary medicine and maintain licensing requirements.
- Qualifications : *
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a small animal veterinary setting.
- Oregon Radiation Safety certified
- Proficiency in venipuncture, radiology positioning, and pharmacology.
- Strong ability to mentor and train other veterinary assistants and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork.
- Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
