As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in transforming healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators to deliver better care.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of healthcare data from diverse sources (EHRs, medical claims, etc.)
  • Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective data solutions
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data storage solutions (e.g. data warehouses, data lakes) aligned with healthcare data privacy regulations
  • Develop and automate data analysis tasks and reporting for various clinical and business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in healthcare data analytics, including machine learning, natural language processing, and distributed computing
  • Work effectively in a collaborative team environment, communicating clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices, including data modeling, ETL / ELT processes, and data warehousing
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated data services (e.g. Redshift, Data Factory, BigQuery)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for driving positive change through innovative data solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems an added plus but not required

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience working with healthcare data, standards, and regulations (e.g. HIPAA, HL7)
  • Experience with data analytics tools and technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, machine learning libraries)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI / CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of data visualization and reporting best practices
