About the role :

The Data Center Design Manager plays a critical role in shaping the design and development of our data centers, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of reliability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.

The Data Center Design Manager works closely with the Chief Technical Officer, the VP of Engineering and Development, Sabey Architecture, the Owner's Representatives, and the Sabey Construction project teams.

Salary Range : $137,517 - $213,150, depending on experience

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Generate and maintain Owner's Project Requirements through the development of comprehensive project requirements in collaboration with stakeholders to guide the design process.

  • Create and publish a Basis of Design for each project to establish the foundational design parameters and ensure they align with the OPR and project goals.
  • Oversee teams of consultants through the entire design process for each project, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and continuously improve design standards to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all projects.
  • Monitor and ensure all designs adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders, including operations and physical security teams, to ensure their needs and requirements are integrated into the design.
  • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of our data centers.
  • Stay abreast of industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments.
  • Evaluate new technologies.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field required
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project design, preferably within the data center or telecommunications industry
