Methid is searching for scientists and engineers to be part of the founding team and work on automating life-science methodology.

Methid is changing the way biology and medical research are done, right at the edge of bits and atoms. Life-science research and diagnostics are more tedious, laborious, and error-prone than they need to be.

This makes research and healthcare slower, more expensive, and less reliable, even for what should be simple tests and therapies! We make life-science research and diagnostic medicine better, faster, and cheaper.

As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will shape the direction of our AI perception technology and your work will be essential to the success of Methid at the proof of concept stage and beyond.

You will lead the application of the best available deep learning-based computer vision models to our innovative biology automation platform.

The Opportunity

• Partner with founder to architect our production AI perception system
• Own the computer vision pipeline and deploy models to production
• Ship quality, well-tested code on a modern technology stack
• Lead software design discussions and code reviews and help shape product direction
• Encourage, motivate, and mentor other engineers to hone their craft

You'll Need

• Proven history of designing, training, and deploying CNN computer vision models to production
• 5+ years of experience in computer vision, perception, and deep learning
• Experience with PyTorch and YOLOv7
• Experience designing and operating labeling systems
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
• Desire to grow and learn while innovating on a system that grows and learns
• Aptitude and passion for technical leadership, code and model reviews, and development of teammates

Bonus

• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
• Experience with C / C++
• Experience with GStreamer and DeepStream
• Experience with multi-camera object tracking, depth, and pose estimation
• Experience with scientific computing or laboratory automation
• Prior academic publication record in computer vision or related field
• Experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced Agile team environment
• Passion for biology and a startup work environment!
