Job Description

The Audio Visual Engineer designs, implements, and maintains cutting-edge audio and visual systems for Quad's retail media platforms, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and engineer complex audiovisual systems for retail environments with a focus on Digital Signage Systems.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project goals, scope, and technical requirements for digital signage solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys to capture all relevant information about the facility, including floorplan layouts, mechanical details of fixtures, electrical distribution, cable pathways, and networking / wireless coverage assessments, to determine optimal placement, equipment needs, and infrastructure requirements for digital signage installations.
  • Oversee on-site installations, technicians, system commissioning, and on-site training ensuring systems meet client specifications.
  • Collaborate with the internal Engineering teams to design and document the final System design for field deployment.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AV systems, including regular maintenance and problem resolution.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digital signage and AV integration, incorporating innovative solutions into future projects to enhance client experiences and outcomes.

Job Requirements :

Appropriate education and / or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

  • Proven track record in designing, installing, and supporting Digital Signage Systems, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the AV industry.
  • Extensive experience in technical design and implementation of AV systems / digital signage solutions, demonstrating expertise in optimizing hardware configurations and software integrations.
  • Proficiency in AV / IT technology and equipment, including Routers, Switches, WAP's, & LCD Displays.
  • Excellent technical skills for troubleshooting complex AV setups, including resolving issues related to content management, display resolution, and network connectivity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for project installations and support, maintaining flexibility and adaptability to diverse environments and client needs.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and networking, with a deep understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of hardware and software troubleshooting technologies and tools, coupled with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiently reads and interprets schematics, blueprints, and drawing packages to ensure meticulous planning and precise execution of digital signage installations, maintaining accuracy throughout the process.
  • Possesses exceptional attention to detail for capturing all pertinent project details, ensuring comprehensive and accurate documentation crucial for seamless implementation and troubleshooting processes.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working without direct supervision, while also thriving in collaborative team environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar Engineering Technology discipline

Experience :

Minimum of 5 years as a Design Engineer in the Audio / Visual industry, preferably with a focus on Retail and Digital Signage Systems

Certificates :

CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I is highly desirable.
