Job Title : State and Local Tax (SALT) or Federal Tax Manager or Director
Location : Houston or Dallas, TX OR Denver, CO (Hybrid - M-W in office)
Compensation : $150,000-$200,000+ Bonus ($200K+ for Director Level) DOE
Skills : Substantive Federal OR State and Local Tax experience, CPA, State orFederal Tax Prep for Corporate and Partnership Income and Franchise Tax Returns, Indirect Tax
We are a dynamic energy-focused consulting firm with a growing Tax Advisory practice that needs exceptional Federal or State and Local Tax Managers and Directors to join our team.
Our ideal candidates will work a hybrid schedule out of either our Houston, Dallas or Denver office. If you are a licensed CPA with 4-7+ years of federal or SALT experience with a passion for the energy industry, then this is a perfect fit for you!
In this role, you will :
- Interface directly with clients and prospective clients to help expand the volume and variety of engagements within our growing tax practice
- Help clients identify risks, optimize tax structuring and preserve tax attributes
- Mentor junior tax associates and consultants
- Prepare / Review Federal or State corporate and partnership income and franchise tax returns
- Federal role will prepare / review quarterly and year-end tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
- Advise clients on various Transactions, tax planning strategies and Indirect Tax matters
- SALT role will advise clients on State Tax Inquiries and Disputes, State Tax Structuring, Due Diligence and Modeling
- SALT role will advise clients on State Tax implications of : domestic buy-side and sell-side transactions, reorganizations, bankruptcy, debt restructuring, financing structures etc
- Determine COD, tax basis, earnings & profits and tax attribute limitation and utilization
Must Have Skills :
- 4-7+ years of Public Accounting / Tax Experience
- Substantive Experience with the Energy Industry
- Substantive Federal OR SALT experience
Nice to Have Skills :
- Energy Credit Experience or Green Energy Experience
- JD and LLM
