Mt. Eden Floral Company is one of the largest floral distributors in California with 4 locations in the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
With over 10,000 sku’s, the company supplies florists, event planners, independent supermarkets, hotels and restaurants.
The company is focused on growth. We are looking for an Accounting Manager who handles the overall management and supervision of the accounting department;
prepares timely and accurate financial statements under GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensuring that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
- Analyzing general ledger updates, coding errors, and recognizing any expenses that have not been paid in the current period by accrual to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Preparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reports and financial closings for multiple entities.
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed.
- Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.
- Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
- Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and MS Office.
- High level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
- Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
