This job is responsible for overseeing the Operations team and ensuring they meet deadlines, execute, and coordinate tasks.
Key responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems, ensuring adherence to operations procedures, providing guidance to employees, handling exception requests, and referring more complex problems to a senior manager.
Job expectations include having an understanding of foundational operations and familiarity in a specific product line.
Responsibilities :
Resolves day-to-day problems and executes deliverables within the business unit
Applies knowledge of the end-to-end processes and ensures adherence to bank and regulatory policy and procedures when making decisions that impact various operations and product lines
Manages team workload and provides oversight and direction to team
Evaluates efficiencies and identifies areas of improvement and growth to the overall process and implements process improvement opportunities
Maintains internal, operational, and financial controls and works within risk appetite of the business unit
Line of Business Job Description :
The Fund Administration, Reporting and Operations Team supports various tasks related to servicing assets for Private Bank and Merrill accounts.
The processes include but are not limited to set up, maintenance, valuations, transaction processing, financial statements, proxies, and other fund administration tasks.
The individual will be responsible for providing daily support of one or more processes covering various product types. The individual ensures the timely and accurate processing and daily reporting requirements within defined timeframes.
This role interacts regularly with business partners, portfolio / investment managers, Broker / Dealers, technology teams, and control partners.
Ideal candidates would have basic financial industry knowledge as well as an understanding of securities or fund accounting knowledge.
Responsibilities include :
Perform regulatory reporting, manually or systematically
Research and resolution on all exceptions with appropriate parties (trading, brokers and operations partners)
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external contacts to promote expeditious problem resolution
Ensuring all Service Level Agreements have been adhered to
Ensuring that all issues are escalated to the appropriate levels in a timely fashion
Ensuring compliance to all levels of audit and compliance (laws, rules, and regulations)
Completing projects (industry or regulatory) assigned by Department Manager or Team Lead
Required Skills :
Experience in an investment operations role supporting trust / fund trade related functions or equivalent
General knowledge of finance and financial industry and / or accounting principles.
Strong accounting or financial background with solid analytical skills
Organizational and time management skills to meet both intraday and long-term deadlines
Exceptional written and verbal skills; communicate in concise, clear, and professional manner
Intellectually curious with a desire to identify and implement innovation
