About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Pediatric Float UnitJob Specialty : Critical Care, Intensive Care, Coronary NursingJob Duration : 13 weeksShift : 36 hrs / week, Day / Night, variable 8 / 12 hour shifts (0700-1530, 0700-1930, 1900-0730, 2300-0730), Monday to FridayGuaranteed Hours : 36Experience : Minimum of 2 years of true Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience.
Previous float experience is a plus. Must have worked in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital. Trach experience is preferred.
License : Must have a Registered Nurse license from the respective state. Compact license acceptable.Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified through the American Heart Association only.
Must-Have : - Basic Arrhythmia experience - Successful completion of a traveler assignment (13 weeks)- Two completed references from recent assignments / supervisors - Experience in the ICU, IMC, and GC unitsJob Description : - Join a top-tier hospital and provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients ranging from newborns to adults.
- Float across potentially five different units, providing care for various medical and surgical issues.- Handle patients with conditions such as acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and those requiring ECMO.
- Work collaboratively within different units based on current staffing needs and competencies.- Pass a required Telemetry test prior to starting the assignment.
- Be the first to float to floors with children up to 1 year of age and / or as per competency skills / experience.Please ensure this job description aligns with your skills and certifications before applying.
