Job Opening - Superintendent

Position Status : Full Time in Altoona, Iowa.

Supervise & Self- Perform

Regular Work Hours : 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM Accountable to : Project Manager & Operations

Accountable for : Subcontractors, Carpenters & Laborers

Overview of Responsibilities :

• Managing, scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare overall job schedules and 3 week look ahead schedules and be able to meet or exceed those schedules.
• Actively seek new ways to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
• Produce work in the time frames set forth by owners and project managers.
• Use diplomacy and tact when dealing with owners, architects and engineers.
• Solve challenges and onsite issues with help from design team.
• Complete carpentry and self-perform work when needed.
• Follow all local, state and OSHA safety rules and regulations mandated.
• Follow all procedures set forth by HCI handbook.
• Able to communicate with owners and architects.

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in reading and understanding drawings and specifications
• Proven past experience
• Supervising & leadership skills
• Good computer skills

Qualifications / Experience :

• 3 years of experience working as a construction superintendent on projects from start to finish
• 3 years working under a general contractor.
• 3 years of experience working in commercial construction
