A law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Employment (Plaintiff Side) Associate Attorney with the following qualifications :
Job Overview :
The Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling plaintiff-side employment law cases, including drafting legal documents, conducting research, participating in mediations, and collaborating with clients and team members.
Duties :
- Draft motions, responses to discovery, and initial pleadings.
- Conduct legal research on employment law issues.
- Collaborate with clients and team members on W&H cases, including class actions.
- Draft various legal documents for State and Federal Courts.
- Oversee mediation and court approval processes for employment cases.
- Manage pleadings filing, service of process, and compliance with deadlines.
- Handle employment-related disputes, including discrimination and wrongful termination cases.
- Collaborate with HR departments and management on employment policies.
- Participate in mediations and second-chair experiences in employment law matters.
Requirements :
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- 3-5 years of experience practicing employment law on the plaintiff side.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
- Exceptional writing, research, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
- Background in plaintiff-side employment matters.
Skills :
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay current of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Education :
JD degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
Active membership in the California State Bar.
