Treasury Management Development Officer Job Summary
The Treasury Management Business Development Officer is responsible for generating new deposits and TM revenue for the bank.
Applies knowledge of prospecting principles, processes and skills to identify and engage potential customers in the market.
Creates and delivers sales presentations, explains services offered, and makes recommendations based on client needs. Builds relationships and creates opportunities.
Plans, strategizes and targets appropropriate industries.
Essential Functions (primary functions and / or reasons the job exists in order of importance)
- Generates new deposits and TM revenue for the bank.
- Applies knowledge of banking products and services to meet customer needs and enable them to achieve their financial goals.
Identifies prospecting approaches to identify potential customers and create opportunities to sell financial solutions and ideas to customers.
Plans, strategizes and targets appropriate industries.
- Creates and delivers sales presentations, explains services offered, and makes recommendations based on client needs. Persuasively articulates Westfield Bank’s value proposition to both internal and external clients to influence the outcome within the sales process.
- Tracks sales activities and timelines to ensure that deliverables within onboarding project plans are met and are on-time.
- Researches and understands the competition’s capabilities and gaps. Responds by appropriately positioning Westfield Bank Treasury Services.
- Partners with Retail Managers to onboard clients and provide ongoing support.
- Follows internal control procedures to prevent fraud, deficiencies, and mishandling of funds.
- Refers new business to banking partners (retail, consumer, mortgage, private banking and commercial).
- Participates in networking events within the community through memberships, outside business events and professional associations.
- Provides assistance in response to regulatory and internal / external audit requests.
- Maintains awareness, understanding, and compliance with the Bank's internal policies and procedures, laws, and regulations appropriate for this position.
- Assists in training and development on business products and services for the customer.
- Travels occasionally to participate in special assignments, training, and / or travel between office locations.
Desired Qualifications / Experience / Certification / Education (in order of importance)
- 4+ years of related banking or direct sales experience.
- Experience with and comprehensive understanding of at least two of the following : Commercial Deposit products, Treasury Management products and account analysis.
- Experience with and understanding of banking business including product structure options, and product profitability.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, flexible work environment with competing demands.
- Commitment to high integrity and ethics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word) or other transferable software packages.
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

- Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
- Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
- Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as : telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
- Ability to travel as required..
