The Supervisor, Quality is responsible for identifying and communicating opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assisting with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection.
Additionally, they will assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits. This individual will provide leadership to Receiving personnel, Inbound and Outbound inspectors and lead the development and revision of certification procedures within the Company’s Quality Management System among other duties assigned.
Responsibilities :
- Conducts dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels; Conducts visual inspections for obvious defects
- Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per drawing, AS standards, and Company Quality standards
- Communicate with suppliers as needed
- Disposition and control of non-conforming product
- Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps (DSQR) for at least 2 customers
- Review and approval of First Articles from suppliers
- Perform First Articles for submission to customers
- Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection
- Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits
- 6S and general cleanliness of work area and warehouse
- Responds to customer, vendor, and sales requests and questions related to all certification documents
- Delegates work to employees and drives resolution related to problem work orders
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other personnel
- Responsible for first-line direction of inspections / quality assurance associates involved in the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, standards, and activities
- Recognize posting errors by receiving department as well as incorrect data entry by Quality Inspectors
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements
- Leads the development and revision of certification procedures within the Company’s Quality Management System
- Provides leadership to Receiving personnel, Inbound and Outbound inspectors
- Ensures inspector capacity is adequate to meet daily customer demands
- Ensures inspected products meet customer and company quality requirements
- Ensures that the Inspection department meets and follows documented Quality systems procedures and policies
- Reports daily inspection metrics and take corrective actions to meet inspection goals
- Leads and resolves nonconforming product from suppliers and customers
- Primary owner of all corrective actions in respective areas
- Performed other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications :
- 6-8 years of related work experience; 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Previous aerospace inspection experience
- Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection
- Experience in the usage of calipers, ring / pin gages, comparator, and Smart scope
- Advanced GD&T Skills Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems
- Knowledge of AS9120 requirements
- Basic Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean concepts
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Working Knowledge of DFAR requirements, Supplier test reports and Customer Traceability.
- Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

- Must be computer savvy and learn company proprietary software programs
- Must be able to convey written and verbal instructions
- An understanding of and working knowledge of aerospace quality management practices and AS9120 requirements is helpful
- Knowledge in OEM and general aerospace business environment
- Knowledge and understanding of aircraft parts and aerospace requirements
- Knowledge of inventory practices and general aerospace requirements regarding same
