Recruiting Firm, Riderflex has been hired by our client, Growlink , to find their Controller! Company : Growlink Industry : Agtech Title : Controller Location : Denver, Co, The position can be hybrid, with the company moving to a coworking space in October.

Employees can choose to work remotely or come into the office if they prefer. Reports to : CFO Direct reports : None to begin with, but possible in the future Type : Full-time / W-2 Salary : $110k - 130k depending on experience Position Overview : The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting to support the strategic goals of the company.

This role will work closely with the CFO and other departments to drive financial efficiency and support business growth.

Given the current structure of the accounting department, the Controller must be hands-on and directly involved in all accounting functions.

This includes managing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger activities. As there are no direct reports within the accounting team at present, the Controller will need to roll up their sleeves and handle these essential tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities : Financial Reporting : Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Compliance and Controls : Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial statement integrity. Coordinate and manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors.

Accounting Operations : Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax functions. Prepare and file state sales tax returns.

Implement and maintain accounting systems and software (QuickBooks Online). Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

Monitor budget variances and provide analysis and recommendations. Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.

Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting and financial reporting.

Streamline and automate accounting processes to increase efficiency. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

CPA or CMA certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Controller or similar accounting role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.

Proven experience working in a SaaS business is a strong plus. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications : Experience with QuickBooks Online Experience with state sales tax filings Experience in a SaaS business Benefits : The benefits package includes health insurance, dental, vision, optional life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and a 401(k) with matching.

The position offers unlimited PTO. There are potential performance bonuses, with a payout bonus estimated to be around three to six percent for this role.
