Job Description

Olsson’s traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for such traditional services as traffic operations studies, pedestrian circulation studies, and intersection improvement / design projects.

They are also proficient in more complex projects, including conducting citywide safety studies, signal timing, improving signal systems, and evaluating and designing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

Traffic design includes traffic signals, roundabouts, pavement marking, signing, and temporary traffic control.

As a Lead Engineer, you will oversee high-level project design and manage the overall design tasks for a specific discipline within a team.

The lead engineer makes influential recommendations and decisions regarding advanced engineering activities and specialized client-type standards and has full technical responsibility of design assignments.

This role manages the delivery of advanced project designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Lead large-scale project design, manage from inception to completion.
• Execute high-level analysis of project documents for compliance.
• Oversee engineering processes, maximize productivity.
• Develop and implement engineering standards and guidelines.
• Enhance team technical expertise through training and mentoring.
• Support project management objectives by organizing resources effectively.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, budget-compliant completion.
• Demonstrate creativity, decision-making, and responsibility in design tasks.

You bring to the team :

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years traffic or transportation engineering experience.
• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• At least 4 years of experience supervising and / or mentoring technical personnel.
