The Office of the InsuranceCommissioner's (OIC) Market Examinations Unit is seeking amotivated and qualified individual to fill the Chief Market ConductExaminer (WMS Band 2) position .
This position isassigned to the Company Supervision Division, located in ourTumwater office.
The OIC is a regulatory agency centeredon consumer protection. The Company Supervision Division is chargedwith protecting consumers through extensive monitoring andregulation of insurer financial condition and marketactivity.
This position is responsible for managing OICMarket Analysis activities including leading a staff ofprofessionals who administer market conduct continuums andexaminations.

DUTIES
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to :
- Providing daily direct supervision andoversight of eight (8) Market Conduct Examiners and One (1)Administrative Assistant.
- Conducting jobanalysis and identifying duties for subordinate jobdescriptions.
- Overseeing all market conductcontinuum activities and providing guidance and direction on marketissues.
- Coordinating with HR and ProgramManager, as appropriate, to develop and manage recruitment andselection processes, to include making sound hiringrecommendations.
- Monitoring progress of eachAnalyst's open files.
- Focusing on continuousprocess improvement and projectmanagement.
- Developing performance expectationsand conducting performanceevaluations.
- Assigning, planning, instructing,and checking the work of assignedstaff.
- Determining and adjusting schedules forassigned staff.
- Ensuring that continuums arecompleted within requiredtimeframes.
- Participating in NAIC andregulatory workgroups.
- Oversee updates to theNAIC's Market Action Tracking System(MATS).
- Tracking and ensuring that all carrierreporting to the Market Conduct Unit is donetimely.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications :
Seven (7) years of insurance experience througha combination of the following : degree completion and / or working inthe insurance industry in an operational area such as underwriting,claims, internal audit, or customerservice.
The degree must be from an accreditedcollege or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S.Department of Education and the Council for Higher EducationAccreditation (CHEA).
- Two (2) yearsof supervisory experience working with varied levels of employees,including oversight of training programs for newemployees.
- Intermediate level Microsoft OfficeWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlookskills.
Preferred / DesiredQualifications :
- Understanding of theinsurance industry, hands on familiarity with insurance companyoperations.
- Intermediate level knowledge ofTeamMate software.
- Related insurance industrydesignations such as AIE, CIE, FLMI, CLU, CPCU, MCM, AIRC, orcurrently taking classes to achieve a relateddesignation.
- Three (3) years of regulatoryexperience in a similar position and in a similar unit.
