  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience in Technology and / or in the management of products. This usually includes at least 1 year experience leading teams.
  • Experience with the principles of design thinking, and lean and agile software delivery.
  • Experience managing projects preferred.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management related to products a plus.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

As a Product Manager at Tideworks, you will be part of a team dedicated to developing and delivering an event-based billing application that integrates seamlessly with marine and rail terminal operating systems (TOS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

You will work to lead and convey to your product team the product vision, delivery of an application that meets our customers' strategic and tactical needs and developing new market opportunities.

You will be responsible for the product roadmap and ensure that this meets the end-to-end needs of our customer.

The position works collaboratively with leadership, product team members and stakeholders, to serve as the expert of this product and guide and champion the development of the product to maximize results.

You’ll lead teams by promoting a self-organizing culture, with the goal of driving continued product success.

Technical Aptitude :

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate closely with the development team to resolve them.
  • Comprehension of tools such as Apache Kafka for building data pipelines to provide real-time analytics.
  • Show proficiency in database management and SQL for handling billing data.
  • Understand and work with APIs for system integrations.
  • Familiar with cloud-based solutions and their implementation in enterprise billing and operating systems.

Knowledge of ERP and Billing Systems Integrations :

  • Map and manage data flows between billing systems and ERP platforms.
  • Understand key ERP modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory) and how they interact with billing processes.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of ERP systems, such as IFS, SAP ByDesign, and Oracle, and their integration with billing systems.

Market Expansion of Billing Product :

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the market.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for the billing application.
  • Analyze competitor products and differentiate your product to gain market share.
  • Scale the billing product to new markets and customer segments.
  • Ensure that the product features are compliant with requirements and / or regulatory restrictions.
  • Identify and expand existing products into new markets, driving growth and adoption.

Agile Knowledge :

  • Lead cross-functional Agile teams, including developers, QA, and UX designers.
  • Write and prioritize user stories and manage the product backlog effectively.
  • Conduct sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Utilize Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence) for tracking progress and managing workflows.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their application in product development.
