Job Description
Position Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled IBM iSystems Engineer with extensive experience in managing and maintaining IBM iSeries and Power VM environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the IBM i operating system, database management, security, and disaster recovery processes.
This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain IBM iSeries and Power VM environments.
- Oversee the IBM i operating system, including database (DB2) management and related products.
- Implement and manage IBM security protocols and disaster recovery processes.
- Perform maintenance and patching of multiple Logical Partitions (LPAR) and servers.
- Utilize logical and disk-based replication technologies, including IBM SAN.
- Administer Backup, Recovery, and Media Services (BRMS), Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs), and third-party tools such as Robot, MPG, etc.
- Manage Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Kerberos for access control.
- Conduct server patching, capacity management, server maintenance, backup management, performance management, security, audit compliance, disaster recovery, server commissioning, and decommissioning.
- Develop and maintain CL (Control Language) programs.
Required Qualifications :
- 8-10 years of senior-level experience with IBM iSeries and Power VM.
- Strong knowledge of the IBM i operating system, database (DB2), and related products.
- Strong knowledge of IBM security and disaster recovery processes.
- Strong knowledge of multiple LPAR and server maintenance and patch processes.
- Understanding of logical and disk-based (IBM SAN) replication technologies.
- Working knowledge of BRMS, PTFs, MIMIX, and other third-party tools such as Robot, MPG, etc.
- Experience with EIM, SSO, and Kerberos for access control.
- Proficiency in patching, capacity management, server maintenance, backup management, performance management, security, audit compliance, disaster recovery, server commissioning, and decommissioning.
- Skilled in CL programming.
