Xcel Energy is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to join our Mass Market Product Management team in Minneapolis, MN. This team delivers innovative programs to residential customers, including renewable energy initiatives, energy efficiency projects, and electrification programs. Interns will collaborate with data analytics and science teams to analyze operational and customer data using tools like Power BI, Excel, Salesforce, and Databricks. Responsibilities include building dashboards, supporting regulatory reporting, and optimizing program performance. The internship is year-round with part-time hours during the academic year and full-time in the summer.

Typical Intern Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and customer data to uncover trends and insights.
• Build dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and Excel.
• Support regulatory reporting and performance tracking for energy programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize program delivery.
• Assist in data preparation and validation for analytics projects.
• Shadow experienced analysts and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

This position is for a June 1, 2026 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate's successful performance and Xcel Energy's business needs

Minimum Requirements

Current student, Freshman and higher.

Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.

Able to commute to the corporate office in Minneapolis, MN.

Able to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year.

Preferred Qualifications

3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher.

Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in data analytics, statistics, or programming.

Experience or proficiency with Power BI, Excel, Salesforce, or Databricks.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Interest in energy, sustainability, or customer experience.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is : $17.00 to $27.20 per hour
