This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Perception Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles in the United States .

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge 3D obstacle perception solutions for autonomous driving platforms. The Senior Perception Engineer will design, implement, and optimize deep learning algorithms to improve perception accuracy, robustness, and efficiency in complex real-world environments. You will work closely with data teams, software engineers, and product managers to productize perception models that meet stringent safety and latency requirements. The role emphasizes large-scale, data-driven development, fostering innovation while driving the deployment of AI solutions to embedded systems. Accountabilities :

  • Research, develop, and optimize deep learning and multi-camera fusion algorithms for 3D obstacle perception in complex driving scenarios.
  • Analyze and improve perception system performance using large-scale benchmark data, both real and synthetic, through iterative testing and KPI optimization.
  • Collaborate with data collection and labeling teams to prioritize high-value data for improving system accuracy and robustness.
  • Productize perception solutions by ensuring compliance with safety, latency, and software reliability requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across the perception team to advance algorithmic innovation and system integration.
  • Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align research outcomes with product goals and deployment needs.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience developing deep learning algorithms and AI solutions for complex real-world problems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and / or C++ with proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience in data-driven development and collaboration with data collection / ground truth teams.
  • Outstanding communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in collaborative engineering environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Expertise in autonomous vehicle or robotics perception solutions using camera-based deep learning.
  • Experience deploying DNN-based models to embedded platforms for real-time applications.
  • Technical publications in leading conferences or journals related to deep learning or computer vision.
  • Strong understanding of 3D computer vision fundamentals, camera calibration (intrinsic / extrinsic), and CUDA programming.
