Job Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist I provides diagnostic evaluations and intervention programs for children with speech, language, learning, feeding / swallowing, or hearing disorders in all settings in which services are offered including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs.

The Speech-Language Pathologist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Master's degree in Speech- Language Pathology or related field.
  • EXPERIENCE - 1-3 years of experience working with children who are Deaf / Hard of hearing and / or who have cochlear implants required.

Proficiency in American Sign Language preferred

  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR; American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)-Speech-Language Pathologist
  • LICENSURE - State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Clinician completes case management activities consistent with department quality assurance and quality improvement standards.
  • Clinician collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other educational institutions, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services.

  • Clinician demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
  • Patient Care - Diagnostic Evaluations : Clinician completes diagnostic evaluations consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology and department quality assurance standards.

Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week) : $78,659.24 to $117,988.86

Hourly Salary Range : $37.82 to $56.73
