BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for coordination and provision of psychological service to primary care clinics, including brief assessment relevant to the primary care setting, focused intervention on a variety of presenting concerns, effective communication with primary care team, and efficient documentation.

May include supervision of psychology trainees.

Vice President-Patient Care Services and Chief Medical Officer

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education
  • Doctorate Required
  • PhD or PsyD in psychology with appropriate focus on child, adolescent, or early development, including completion of an internship in an APA or CPA accredited psychology program
  • Minimum Work Experience
  • Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or integrated healthcare is preferred. Prior pediatric experience required.
  • Required Licenses / Certifications for position
  • Licensed Psychologist

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to relate and effectively communicate with varying levels of staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence / Quality

Consider the quality of the work tasks required and how the quality of performance impacts the program, function or care this position must demonstrate.

  • Delivers effective consultation-liaison services to primary care providers.
  • Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment to the primary care population being served.
  • Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff.
  • Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees.
  • Customer Service (internal and external)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required.

Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard / computer use and / or repetitive motions may be required.
