Job Summary
The Part-Time Animation and Game Development Tutor provides academic support both on-site and online to students enrolled in the Animation and Game Dev programs.
The Tutor provides support troubleshooting related software, tutorial creation and live demos when needed. This position diagnoses students' deficiencies, and assists with assignments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needs
- Monitors student's progress
- Attends all tutor trainings and required meetings
- Provides information to students via social media, text / chat services, email or telephone
- Guides students to use the educational software in the lab facilities
- Assists with the development of assets and the completion of department projects
- Attends and monitors department events as needed
- Helps academically at-risk MAGIC students by giving-one-on-one lessons in problem areas and documents their progress
- Creates video tutorials to reinforce what MAGIC students learn in class
- Keeps up with the latest in software development for the department and its uses
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution in Animation or Game Development or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse population
- Possess superior organizational and time management skills
- Ability to coordinate with tutors and staff for projects and departmental needs
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, animation and gaming industry related software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to stay up to date with the latest software updates and industry trends
- Possess strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well in a mult-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
