JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides clinical consultation to facilitate coordination of wound care across the continuum.
- For patients admitted to the inpatient setting, the Wound Care Nurse provides a written report to the inpatient nurse regarding wound care, wound healing progress and long range goals.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Essential : lifting up to 5-10 lb., seeing, hearing, talking, grasping, fingering.
- Continuous : standing, walking, stooping, forward reaching, handling.
- Frequent : pushing and pulling up to 30 psi, lifting up to 10 lbs., sitting, bending, squatting, twisting.
- Occasional : pushing and pulling up to 70 psi; lifting : horizontal lift / carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance, floor to waist up to 35 lbs.
waist to shoulder up to 25 lbs., overhead level up to 15 lbs.; carrying up to 35 lbs, running, climbing, side bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching.
Operates various machines / tools / work aids.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
- May be exposed to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases.
- Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced and hectic.
- May be subjected to patients with behavior health conditions.
- May be subjected to heavy patients requiring transfer to and from wound center chair or table.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- Current Hawaii license as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current wound certification from a nationally recognized program; or must obtain a wound certification from a nationally recognized program within two (2) years of entrance into the position.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare Professional Level.
EXPERIENCE :
- Two (2) years clinical nursing experience.
