Nurse Practitioner (Per Diem)

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments of individuals referred to the INSET program, alongside the social worker.

Assess and diagnose mental health conditions, medical issues, and substance use / misuse as necessary. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Social Worker and Peer Team Leader to address the specific needs and challenges of each participant.

This includes medication management, therapeutic interventions, and psychoeducation. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will need to regularly follow up with participants to track their progress, monitor treatment effectiveness, document accurately and adjust interventions as needed.

Qualifications :

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on psychiatric health or similar.
• National certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is typically required for this role.
• Must hold an active and unrestricted nursing license and New York State licensure to practice asa Nurse Practitioner in the psychiatric-mental health field.
• Previous experience in mental health nursing or psychiatric settings is highly beneficial.
• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to handle psychiatric crises and emergencies with a calm and composed demeanor.
• Sensitivity and understanding of diverse patient populations and cultural backgrounds.
• Effective time management and organizational skills to handle a caseload of patients and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to psychiatric care and patient confidentiality.
• An approved background check is required prior to employment.

We Are a State Mandated Organizat ion, COVID-19 Vaccinations are Required. Selected candidates must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received a booster shot.

Baltic Street Wellness Solutions will require selected candidates to submit proof of complete vaccination against COVID-19 and having received a booster shot prior to extending a job offer.

If a candidate has a qualifying medical condition or religious exemption that contraindicates a COVID-19 vaccination, an exemption form should be requested from Human Resources.

Compensation details : 90-110 Hourly Wage
