JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant of Urgent Care / ED is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision / collaboration of a licensed physician.
This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.
The Iron Mountain ED was recently renovated in 2021 and is the only ED in a large mile radius seeing just under 20K patients per year.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required Education : Master’s degree nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Preferred / Optional : None
EXPERIENCE
Preferred / Optional : Two years nursing experience.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
Minimum Required
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse License
- Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
- Physician Assistant
Preferred / Optional : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
