JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
The National Director of Group Sales is responsible for overseeing and directing the group sales generation of new revenue from businesses of all sizes by pursuing and closing new, repeat, and incremental customer sales.
Will oversee and manage the Group Sales Managers’ and their management of events including studio events, studio relationships, social media, film festivals, group meetings, birthday parties and marketing / business partnership, incentives, and large non-revenue generating PR events.
Time will be divided approximately 50% strategy, management sales managers, budget, Event Sales and 50% day to day sales generation and operation.
OBJECTIVES
To spearhead and expand the theater company's group sales initiatives across the nation, driving increased attendance, revenue, and brand visibility.
By building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, organizations, and group representatives, the role aims to curate tailored theatrical experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
As the central figure in group sales strategy, the objective is to understand market trends, craft compelling package offerings, and ensure the theater becomes the go-to destination for groups seeking unparalleled performing arts experiences on a national scale.
JOB DUTIES
- Lead the sales efforts in closing large events and driving new event opportunities to increase overall revenue from all market segments.
- Identify qualifying business potential, closing business, overcoming objections, negotiating, upselling, and understanding the client's needs through Features-Adjectives-Benefits selling
- Lead generation to include virtual communication, delivering efficient and compelling sales proposals to customers, gathering relevant market and customer information.
- Employ a systematic sales strategy with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction, retention, and event revenue.
- Support and grow relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including Studios and Corporate Businesses) to generate additional sales and future business.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with operations for smooth execution of programs.
- Maintain timely and clear communication with all customers; grow relationships at the appropriate levels to enable the development and advancement of sales results.
- Create collaborative relationships in the events industry by attending national exhibitions and workshops.
- Establish key performance indicators and metrics to measure and validate results.
- Create and manage film-based Outreach programs to target appropriate customer group.
- Develop sales training program for sales managers and manage, coach and direct Group Sales Manager team
- Create and manage overall operating sales budget.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
- BA / BS degree, preferably in Marketing, Computer Information Systems, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years of relevant experience and 2 or more years of people management experience
- Up to 40% business related travel and must be able to attend events including holidays and / or weekends.
- Previous experience with film-related events or festivals a plus
- Business-to-business marketing experience a plus
SKILLS
- Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams.
- Strategic and creative thinking skills
- Knowledge and Proficiency using a CRM system.
- Very strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office software
