Job Title : Facilities Maintenance Worker

Reports To : Operations Supervisor and Director

Work Hours : Monday Friday (8.0hrs daily)

SUMMARY : LA Global Care aim is to provide the highest quality support to a range of individuals with

complex housing, and shelter needs. Facilities Maintenance Worker are required to maintain the

general janitorial, maintenance and repairs for all Ms. Hazel’s House / LAGC buildings facilities,

sites, and grounds to provide a safe and welcoming environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

Operated various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.

Operate basic hand tools, constructions tools etc.

Clean and sanitize showers after each client use.

Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and

replacement of equipment and furnishings.

Requires working in damp, dusty, and dirty areas.

Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required.

Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.

Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.

Damp dust furniture, and light fixtures. Windowsills, etc.

Empty trash containers daily.

Wet mop floors in all kitchens, bathrooms, lobbies, and hallways daily.

Clean Windows at offices, facilities as needed.

Clean basins, mirrors, and commodes daily.

Report any needed repairs immediately to the supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose

tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts, or screws, etc.)

Maintain the exterior areas such as the parking lot, planters, and stairways.

Check the entire area for spills, water, etc.

Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

Monitor hygiene areas for safety.

Install and / or assemble program equipment.

Assist clients in accessing three main services : Hygiene, laundry, and storage.

Perform other duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor, Maintenance Director,

Operations Supervisor, and Director of Operations.

Perform Basic electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs as needed

Prep and paint rooms, facilities and offices as needed.

Perform landscaping as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :

High School Diploma or GED equivalent or 1-year relevant work experience.

Reliable transportation has its own tools, valid Driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.

Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Requirement :

Covid-19 Vaccination required : All staff is required to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and to

submit vaccination records to the HR Department during the new hire orientation.

Fully Covid-19 vaccinated (2 weeks from last from vaccination dose to be considered fully

vaccinated.)

Negative Covid-19 Test : All maintenance staff must provide a negative Covid-19 test. PCR test

results must be submitted every Monday to the immediate supervisor, Operations supervisor,

and Director of operations prior to reporting to work.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)

The Facilities Maintenance Worker will work in an office setting. S / he may be exposed to

aggressive, sometimes noisy, loud, and disruptive clients and must work in conjunction with

other staff members, interface with courts, LA County Probation, Sheriff’s Department and Mental

Health Departments, and other community agencies. There is some responsibility to work in

noisy environments where adults are free to talk loud and expressive.

Physical Requirements

This position demands good physical and mental health. The Facilities Maintenance Worker will

be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move

continuously during work hours, and be able to lift and / or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

Mental Requirements

The Facilities Maintenance Worker must be able to handle any / all the following : interruptions,

changes in

priorities / work schedules; be able to process information, think, and conceptualize.
