Accounts Payable Representative

Signature Homes is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Representative for our Hoover, AL office. The right candidate will be a detail-oriented person who is enthusiastic about improving the overall efficiencies of our team and able to achieve consistent and accurate work with accounts payable transactions.
Responsibilities :
- Receive and review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry into accounting software
- Execute credit card payments & reconciliation
- Run AutoPay reports to pay vendors with purchase orders
- Review all bills for appropriate general ledger codes and process for payment
- Obtain and print signatures on all checks
- Upload EFT payment files to the bank
- Reconcile vendor statements when received
- Communicate with business partners and vendors to resolve and clarify invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries
- Participate in ad hoc accounting projects, financial analysis, and reporting on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for vendor management including setting up new vendors and updating vendor records as necessary
- Assist other team members, Controller and CFO as needed
Skills and Experience :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts and procedures
- 2+ years experience as a part of an accounting team is a plus
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and work effectively in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. #zr
