Description

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

We are seeking a dedicated Psyiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide remote patient care for our Alaska-based clients.

This position requires availability during the hours of 7 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM AST (Alaska Time). In this role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care, prescribe appropriate medications, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

Patient Care :

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence-based interventions.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments for mental and behavioral disorders.
  • Provide timely and compassionate mental health care to patients.

Collaboration :

  • Work with mental health professionals, family members, and primary care providers to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
  • Maintain professional and clear communication with patients and colleagues.

Record Keeping :

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Professional Development :

  • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatry, including new treatments and medications.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education & Certification :

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in insert state .
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

Experience :

  • Experience diagnosing and treating a range of mental health conditions.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and telehealth platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop tailored treatment plans for individual patients.
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
