3D Structural Design Engineer

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent leader in the railing systems industry, is seeking a 3D Structural Design Engineer

3D Structural Design Engineer Job Details :

• 1st Shift
• Up to $85,000

Responsibilities :

• Coordinate outsourced design resources and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of railing systems projects.
• Review and verify submittal drawings and shop packages for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in weekly coordination meetings with external design partners to ensure project milestones and timelines are met.
• Utilize knowledge of machines, engineering practices, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete design drawings.
• Ensure the accuracy and consistency of designs and documentation for both internal and client use.
• Collaborate with management to oversee 3D design projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
• Implement best practices and innovative approaches for 3D design within the context of railing systems and modular construction.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate 3D designs into overall project plans.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of products and their application to railing systems and modular construction.
• Produce high-quality work using AutoCAD, Inventor Pro, and Vault and assist in the refinement of internal design standards.
• Support the reduction of errors and contribute to improving design processes across the team.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, methods, and principles, especially related to railing systems and modular construction projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proven ability to manage design coordination, communicate effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• 5-10 years of experience using Autodesk software to produce shop and erection drawings.
• 1-3 years of experience with 3D modeling software such as Inventor.
• Previous experience in railing systems design and knowledge of related building codes is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical details to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results with minimal oversight.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements :

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
