About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB / GYN, and Labor & Delivery / LDRP

License : Must hold a valid RN license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN

Must-Have :

• 2 years of recent experience in relevant nursing specialties
• Experience providing care to OB / GYN patients, including postpartum, antepartum, triage, labor and delivery care
• Ability to float to other units as needed

Description :

Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.

Appropriately assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.

Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support for spiritual and psychosocial needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patients and / or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Circulates during cesarean sections and attends deliveries, assisting the physician as needed.

Follows policies regarding the recovery and care of surgical patients.

Attends the neonatal station in the cesarean section suite and conducts complete assessments of neonates post-delivery.

Completes fetal monitoring certification classes every two years and is certified in NRP.

Identifies necessary information for communication with physicians and patients.
