ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for safely driving buses as required for Shakedown testing or delivery of local buses around the SF Bay area within 100-mile radius, starting point of Livermore, CA.

Occasionally responsible for driving chase cars as needed after local deliveries to pick up fellow drivers. The ideal candidate would desire a regular schedule, enjoy the variety of driving assignments, and be proud to be an integral part of GILLIGs dynamic team.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL :

• Operating buses safely and efficiently along designated routes
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• EV Bus Shakedown Testing
• Shuttling buses around GILLIG yard
• Deliver buses to local customer locations
• Report any bus malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisor
• Keep record of routes and mileage
• Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of the buses
• Performs other related duties, as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess a valid commercial drivers license (CLASS A or B) with passenger endorsement
• Clean driving record with no accidents or violations
• Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns a plus
• Reliable and on-time with neat, professional appearance and manner
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior experience as a bus driver preferred
• In compliance with FMCSA regulations, drivers will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing through a third-party consortium

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
• Standard start time : 6 : 00 a.m.

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate : $30 - $35 + premium benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
