What You’ll Be Doing :

While beginning training to understand and operate CNC laser equipment, employee will assist with setting up tools and equipment to operate CNC laser equipment.

He or she must form / cut material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams and complete the necessary quality inspections of product.

More experienced operators may perform independent setup following orientation and initial training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

• Assist with setup of machine, tooling, and fixtures.
• Use beginner’s knowledge of M&G code and makes minor adjustments to meet production goals.
• Use appropriate measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
• Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC laser machine and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he / she may be assigned.
• Produce quality parts, which include the placement of raw material, assisting in the removal of parts and packing, and cutting parts by hand (where applicable).
• Successfully complete all training, including RFC Academy (JIT, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma, SPC), Basic Quality, Math, Blueprint Reading, and CNC trainee-level courses as required.
• Use a working knowledge of computers including manufacturing software / business systems in order to create Work-In-Process or Finished Goods / Inventory Tickets.

Also use set-up charts, address rework / defective parts, complete end of shift paperwork, review route sheets, and understand tool storage / staging operation

Follow safety guidelines, handle parts and practice general housekeeping.

Open Shifts : We are currently seeking candidates for 2nd shift

1st 6AM 2 : 30PM Monday Friday

2nd 2PM 10 : 30PM Monday Friday. Eligible for $1 / hr shift premium.

3rd 10PM 6 : 30A Sunday overnight - Thursday overnight. $1.50 / hr shift premium.

NOTE : Employees hired for 2nd or 3rd shift will train on 1st shift for up to 6-12 months. This position is eligible for bridge toll reimbursement for KY residents who train in Indiana and transfer to Shelbyville, KY once new plant and equipment is installed.

We are doing some shifting of manufacturing equipment when our new facility opens - our laser cutting equipment is scheduled to move in the next year or so.

As equipment moves, we'll ask team members to move with it so we are looking for team members willing to move closer to or commute to Shelbyville, KY once the equipment is relocated.

Qualifications

• One to three months of related experience and / or training; CNC machines, machine set-up, metalworking, welding / fabrication
• Computer Skills are required - to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn how to new programs.
• Able to lift 50 -75 lbs on a regular basis
• Able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.
• Willing to relocate to Shelbyville, KY facility when equipment is moved in the next year.

Preferred :

• Consistent experience in manufacturing setting in set-up and machine operation or metal fabrication. This could include : Setting up / running CNC equipment, Performing part quality inspections, Blueprint reading, Experience with making adjustments to CNC programs
• Strong work history including good longevity in previous role
