Job Summary
Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.
Accountabilities
- Obtains medical histories or performs physical examinations. 15%
- As appropriate to area of expertise, provides health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals; provides well child care, including screening and immunizations;
provides prenatal care and family planning services. 15%
- Diagnoses, treats, and monitors chronic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure. 15%
- Collaborates with physician and other health professionals as needed.15%
- 5Writes orders for the interprets laboratory studies, x-rays, special tests, medications, treatments, and other matters pertaining to patients' care. 15%
- Prescribes medications and other treatments. 15%

- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients / families in accordance with established standards.

Minimum Education
Master's Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent

SC Nurse Practitioner
Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License
South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner
South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license
