Job Description

A client in the Nashville, TN area is looking for a VP of Business Development to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the CRO to document, track and report on activities throughout the sales process.

You will also be the first point of contact with inbound leads that have been found through the marketing, PR and search engine results.

This role will collaborate with other sales reps and will have the opportunity to strategize with them once leads are qualified where you will then take these leads from the qualifications cycle to the closing cycle.

As the VP of Business Development, you will take on a true strategic role to engage, target and set leads at the highest level once a lead has been qualified by the reps.

You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, term deals, and doing product demos that will lead to the closing cycle of the deal.

You will qualify prospects and identify market segmentation alignment with the sales team. The VP of Business Development will also be representing the company in front of prosects and at networking events.

This team takes a true collaborative and team approach. This role will need to have demonstrated experience selling to banks in order to efficiently come in, strategize, target, sell and take on product demos to these banking targets and clients.

You may also engage with the Sales Reps to offer guidance and strategy on their sales approach, partner with them on clients they've qualified and offer your expertise to help close deals with qualified banks, and perform demos with little to no guidance in front of bank VPs, SVPs, Directors, and CIOs, CTOs, Chief Digital Officers, etc.

This role will have the exciting opportunity of developing and executing strategies around revenue generation and company growth.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience within Fintech sales, Fintech SAAS sales selling to banks.
  • Experience cold-calling, targeting, and setting meetings at all levels (Directors, VPs, C Suites, etc.)
  • Experience doing high-level product demos with SVPs, VPs, and C-Suite clients.
  • Proven ability to take clients / deals from qualifications phase to closing.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts (terms, deals, etc.) with clients.
  • Experience using , Hubspot or relevant lead gen and sales tools
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and exercise influence across various departments.
  • Ability to develop relationships with all levels within client companies.
  • Ability to self-manage to set goals and objectives and deliver results
  • Open to 60% travel for client meetings, networking events, and to visit the home office in Nashville, TN

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
