We are currently seeking an Assistant General Manager in Nashville, TN for our Middle Tennessee Aggregate operations. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Aggregates.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop and retain employees while focused on uncompromised excellence in safety, quality, long range planning and productivity.
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Works directly with the Vice President to manage the P&L for multiple aggregate operations, both surface and underground, with a team of 100+ employees across 5 counties in the Nashville, TN area.
- Creates and maintains a culture where safety is the number one priority at all locations.
- Maintains internal relationships with sales personnel, quality personnel, safety and environmental staff, managers of other operating units and accounting personnel.
- Works closely with Area manager, controller and sales team to build long range plans to meet sales demand with maximum efficiency and equipment utilization.
- Works closely with controller to prepare budgets, reforecasts, capital plans and monthly P&L reviews, etc. for use in corporate business planning.
- Ensures mine plans at all locations are designed to maximize reserve life and minimize overall production cost.
- Builds and maintains external relationships with the local governmental bodies, vendors as well as key customers.
- Responsible for developing and implementing long range plans as it relates to reserves, bottom line growth and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and objectives, including safety, personnel, and insurance.
- May be called upon by Management to perform other duties and projects. Performs responsibilities included but are not limited to those listed.
- Must be willing to relocate.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrable knowledge of all aggregate processes, with outstanding organizational and leadership skills and problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to communicate and work with senior management to achieve the necessary goals set for specific projects.
- Proven organizational and leadership skills with ability to supervise, train, and develop personnel across multiple sites and mining processes.
- Must be able to develop and perform in a team atmosphere.
- Strong analytical ability to visualize long term company impacts through analysis of budgets, plans and proposals.
- Proven performer with multiple site P&L responsibility.
- 8-10 years of direct industry experience, along with a bachelor’s degree in related field of study preferred.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external customers.
- Strategic thinker with growth in mind.
- Skilled in MS Suites and Excel.
