Summary / Objective

Seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to be an integral contributor to our finance and business operations. The position will have a broad range of responsibilities, to include all aspects of the monthly close, GL responsibilities, fulfilling external reporting requirements, and developing process efficiencies.

In addition, the accountant will be involved in some tax research and be the tax liaison, working with outsourced Tax Firms for advisory and filings.

Essential Functions

Evaluate and perform balance sheet reconciliations that are complete, accurate, and fully supported by appropriate evidence in compliance with U.

S. GAAP and other accounting regulations

• Analyze and review month end close activities for discrepancies, coding errors and other issues that should be researched, and resolved or brought to managements attention, including preparation, review, upload, and posting of journal entries
• Coordinate and prepare monthly / quarterly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts and make recommendations to correct errors as appropriate
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting
• Identify & maintain the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
• Participate in system implementations and process improvements by monitoring and assessing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement, and drive optimization
• Provide wide range of support for financial statement audits and tax filings
• Key contributor to acquisition integration and purchase accounting
• Conduct special research and projects for the G / L and other ad hoc projects as needed

Competencies

• Solid understanding of accounting practices, principles, and controls
• Excellent financial and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high degree of proficiency in Excel
• Self-motivated, high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
• Effective time management skills, proactive problem solving and critical attention to detail and deadlines
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Tax experience (sales / use and income tax) a plus
• Detail-oriented problem solver
• Team player

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• 7-10 years of general accounting experience required
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• NetSuite experience helpful
