Irby Construction Company General Superintendent Role
Irby Construction Company is seeking a seasoned General Superintendent to oversee large-scale data center construction projects. The role involves leading daily field operations, managing safety and quality, and ensuring timely project delivery while upholding company standards.
What You'll Do
- Lead site execution of complex Data Center systems with a deep understanding of associated risks
- Manage safety, quality, compliance, and risk mitigation across all phases of construction
- Oversee site logistics including cranes, trailers, and heavy equipment coordination
- Direct weekly work activities and sequencing for trade crews and subcontractors
- Maintain and communicate current as-built drawings, revision logs, and drawing sets
- Conduct constructability reviews and develop scopes of work for trades
- Facilitate owner and design partner meetings, and coordinate with trade principals
- Monitor field progress against schedule and develop recovery plans as needed
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and enforce site-specific safety protocols
- Manage phased job site utilization plans and workforce deployment
- Conduct preconstruction meetings for each phase and scope of work
- Guide Site Superintendents in short-term look-ahead scheduling and execution
- Plan crane operations, material staging, and overall construction flow
- Review quantity takeoffs and materials management during buyout
- Track milestone completion and manage project closeout, punch lists, and permitting
- Mentor direct reports and conduct performance evaluations
- Foster strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
- Uphold company values, ethics, and compliance standards throughout the project
- Refuse unsafe work and enforce Irby Construction Company's Procedures and Work Practices
- Report incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly
- Maintain and wear required PPE at all times
- Participate in inspections, training, and safety meetings
- Ensure trade partner compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety code
What You'll Bring
Minimum 12 years of construction experience, including projects valued at $100MM+Strong knowledge of complex Data Center systems and mission-critical infrastructureProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management toolsAbility to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and installation manualsDemonstrated competency across all major trade typesWhat You'll Get
