FTE : Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift : Days

Pay : $43.25 - $69.19 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary :

Manages the daily operations of the laboratory at Poudre Valley Hospital.

Responsibilities :

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.

Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems / equipment / supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and / or stock supplies.

Assesses the quality of services delivered and coordinates services with staff, medical offices, and external laboratories.

Acts as Director in their absence.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements :

Minimum Required Education : Bachelor's degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.

Required Licensure / Certification : Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty / sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities.

State licensure if required by law.

Minimum Experience : 2 years of related experience with 1 year supervisory.

Preferred Experience : 3 years of Hospital Clinical Laboratory experience.
