Job Description
Oversee process for management of external finances in support of global CMC product development strategies. Manage global contracting team charged with the submission, negotiation and reconciliation of transactions.
Responsibilities
- Complete oversight for financial planning, gating, analysis, and reporting for external costs associated with collaboration and purchasing agreements.
- Lead all aspects of reporting externals for LBE, Plan, Update and Portfolio financial cycles.
- Responsible for oversight and integrity of all financial processes. Complete all monthly external cost variance commentaries as required as well as recommendations / levers for mitigation.
- Represent CMC on licensing and collaboration projects for reporting and tracking external costs.
- Work with the Product Development Directors to identify and track all projects requiring EX-US shipments of drug substance and API.
Work with Global Trade Compliance to identify all customs fees, duties and taxes associated with drug substance / API shipping pathways.
- Independently identify and execute opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead an organization of 5-10, including people leaders, and individual contributors in the US and Germany. Manage performance, including development of employees
- Collaborate with PDS&T to ensure seamless transition of external budget
- Lead team responsible for negotiating agreements in support of local outsourcing (Germany) and in the submission and management of agreements in the US.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant field required
- 10+ years of progressive financial experience required
- CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop members of a team
- Possess a thorough understanding of research and development processes related to external spending.
- Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical supplier agreements
- Demonstrated ability to manage processes across a global matrix environment
- Strong communication skills a must, particularly across a range of stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on stakeholder needs
- Ability to drive and implement innovation

This position follows a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site per week).
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
This range may be modified in the future.
