The Personal Trainer performs fitness assessment and creation of a personal exercise prescription for clients and other LLU entities.
Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology or related fields preferred. Minimum one years of related experience preferred.
CPR and Basic First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire. American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification preferred.
Familiarity with fitness machines and other equipment. Familiarity with basic principles of cardiovascular training, strength and resistance training, proper stretching and exercise techniques, and appropriate safety guidelines.
Ability to work with clients with existing health risks and / or conditions. Knowledge of fitness assessments, performing exercise movements and assessments of injured clients.
