Senior/Staff Software Engineer - 3D World Generation Pipelines

The Zoox simulation team is looking for experienced software engineers to take our 3D world-generation technology to the next level.

You will work closely with technical artists to improve our procedural content pipeline and with simulation and ML engineers to deploy new methods to improve the fidelity and performance of our 3D worlds.

In this role, you will :

• Scale up our procedural world generation pipeline for a quickly growing number of cities
• Integrate generative and reconstruction-based AI into production pipelines
• Collaborate across Zoox to enable new kinds of testing and training in 3D simulation
• Own artist and content pipelines to improve art production quality and throughput

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in relevant domains
• High proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience building art pipelines and extending DCC tools such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, or Unity
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud computing platforms
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3D game engines like Unity or Unreal
• Familiarity with AAA game assets and code pipelines
• Experience with Houdini and / or Maya
• Experience with ML engineering
• Experience in computer vision or robotics
• Experience with lidar, radar, or camera simulation

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position : salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.

The salary will range from $203,000 - $300,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
