In the role of Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key player in crafting high-quality, innovative, and efficient software that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Provide technical leadership, instilling best engineering practices in all phases of large-scale initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, QA, and product managers.
- Design and implement new user-facing features and applications.
- Develop test automation to ensure consistent software quality
- Lead initiatives for refactoring and re-engineering our platform.
- Produce high-quality software that is well-designed, fully unit-tested, and passes peer code reviews.
- Deliver projects with high quality and at a rapid cadence.
What You Bring to the Team :
- Full-stack engineering experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience building, fixing, and scaling web apps.
- Eagerness to learn and mentor.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and Unix.
- Solid foundation in computer science with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Dedication to writing maintainable, fast, and well-documented code.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
You'll Have a Better Chance of Success With :
- Experience in large refactoring / re-engineering projects.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Demonstrable work in at least some components of our stack :
- Ruby, Rails
- MySQL
- Elasticsearch
- jQuery, React
- Redis, Resque
- Play
- Familiarity with DevOps and AWS.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
