Position Overview : We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team. The Physical Therapist will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality physical therapy services to students with diverse needs, promoting their physical health and well-being in the school environment.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is dedicated to supporting students' overall development and enhancing their participation in educational activities and programs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities, functional limitations, and motor skills.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to address students' unique goals and challenges.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in various settings, including individual sessions, small groups, and classroom-based activities, focusing on improving mobility, strength, coordination, and gross motor skills.
- Collaborate closely with educational teams, including teachers, administrators, and other therapists, to integrate therapy goals into students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and support their participation in school routines and extracurricular activities.
- Monitor student progress, document treatment sessions, and maintain accurate records of services provided in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide education and training to school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to promote students' physical development, safety, and independence in the school and community environments.
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in pediatric physical therapy and participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications :
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Mississippi licensure as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure through the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Certification in Pediatric Physical Therapy (preferred).
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents with diverse physical and developmental needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic educational environment.
