Responsible for creating and ensuring internal controls are adhered to, and for all accounting activities that impact the General Ledger and financial reporting.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Corporate Controller
Ensure appropriate internal control procedures are in place including working closely with IT to ensure the accuracy with financial systems.
Ensure that the general ledger accurately reflects the Company’s financial position and is closed in a timely and accurate manner
Review periodic account analysis
2. Financial Systems
Ensure the integrity and security of SAP and all postings flowing from it, all accesses to it and all financial data generated within it
Establish & maintain security protocols and internal controls over the SAP ERP system.
Ensure safeguards over cash disbursements, confidential and proprietary information, company assets and financial reporting
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
Review and approve requests for changes to SAP roles and transactions.
2. Sales & Marketing accounting
Prepares monthly journal entries to record and adjust revenue, sales allowances and marketing expenses per GAAP
Works with the marketing team to provide financial results vs budget and assists with budget management
Sales & Marketing analysis using BI to create explanations for variances vs budget to ensure accuracy in SAP and in financial reporting
Creates marketing internal orders, manages and revises order groups and extracts marketing reports from SAP
Approves and codes all marketing invoices considering contracts, budgets and marketing approvals.
3. Manage Accounts Receivable (Credit)
Manages the timely and accurate cash application of daily receipts
Manages the creation of credit memos by AR and the Accounting team to accurately record promotional expenses and clear deductions from AR
Manages cash collection efforts and credit holds
Monitor the aging of receivables and produce AR Aging reports
Purchasing Controls, sub-ledgers, General Ledger
Ensures control over payables and cash disbursements by reviewing, approving and setting-up all vendor additions in SAP
Maintains a company purchasing matrix and PO approval logic as basis for SAP release strategies
Interim and Annual Audit
Ensure year-end closing is timely and accurate and all systems roll correctly for the new year.
Coordinate the audit for the finance department
Ensure that all required confirmations and documentation is ready for the auditors
Point of contact for audit.
Required Skills

Undergraduate degree in accounting.
CPA preferred
