The affiliate faculty employee is a non-ranked, part-time member of the Loretto Heights School of Nursing.
Affiliate faculty provide all aspects of the teaching-learning process for a course section and work under the direction of the ranked faculty assigned to a specific course and the appropriate Nursing Department Director.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Essential :
Clinical Supervisors provide evaluation and supervision of the learning environment, preceptor, and student and work under the direction of a qualified faculty assigned to a specific course and the Director of the Department of Graduate / Post-Licensure Nursing.
Clinical faculty assume joint responsibility with ranked (teaching) faculty in guiding student learning and have ongoing responsibility for evaluating student learning in the practice setting.
Clinical faculty work under the direction of a specified course faculty and the department director in which the course / program resides.
Clinical instructors and associate nursing instructional personnel (ANIPs) work under the direction and supervision of ranked nursing faculty and assist students in laboratory, clinical settings, and / or other environments to meet specific nursing goals.
All affiliate faculty and clinical affiliate faculty are expected to maintain professional behaviors and positive relationships in the internal and external communities associated with Regis University
Position Requirements :
Education, professional licensure, and experience :
Affiliate faculty who teach online or in the classroom are required to have a graduate degree in nursing or a relevant field.
Doctoral preparation in nursing or a related field is preferred.
Clinical Supervisors must have a master’s degree in nursing and be qualified nurse practitioners and an active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Clinical faculty must have a master’s degree in nursing and an active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Effective July 1, 2007, an active license in good standing includes registered nurses practicing pursuant to the terms and condition of the nurse licensure compact.
Clinical instructors must have a baccalaureate degree in nursing, a written plan on file with the LHSON and the CSBN for graduate studies, and an active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Effective July 1, 2007, an active license in good standing includes registered nurses practicing pursuant to the terms and condition of the nurse licensure compact.
ANIPs must have a baccalaureate degree in nursing or an associate degree in nursing with a written plan on file with the LHSON and the CSBN for baccalaureate and / or graduate studies, and an active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Effective July 1, 2007, an active license in good standing includes registered nurses practicing pursuant to the terms and condition of the nurse licensure compact.
All of the above must have proven or presumptive potential for fulfilling the responsibilities of an affiliate faculty member.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
The University appointment is part-time and temporary in nature and thus carries no fringe benefits and no expectation of renewal upon expiration of the term specified in the Affiliate Faculty Letter of Appointment.
This position is benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
