n Description : nReason : Vacancy nDepartment : Pediatric ICU nJob Category : Registered Nurses Direct Care (SC1016) Job Title : RN ICU - Pediatrics nDuties : General Description : n nUnder general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

n n n nEssential Responsibilities : n nResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

n nAssumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. n nDocuments patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments;

notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. n nAssists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.

n nObtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.

n nAdministers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. nDelivers patient care competently.

n nInteracts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge. n nInforms patient and family of hospital procedures.

n nMakes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. n nDelegates tasks to support staff. n n n nGeneral Responsibilities : n nPerforms other duties as assigned.

nSkills : Experience : N / A n n n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities : n nKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.

n nAbility to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. n nAbility to maintain good working relationships with other employees.

n nGood verbal and written communication skills. n nAbility to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.

n nSome computer skills. nKeywords : nEducation : Education : n nGraduate from an accredited school school of nursing required.

n nBachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred. n n n nLicense(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required : n nCurrent RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).

n nCurrent Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. n nPALS (American Heart Association) required within 1 year of hire. n
