Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
JOB DETAILS :
- Target Ratios : : - (Must be comfortable with these ratios)
- Shift : HR NIGHT. or hours accepted. If , then no OT billed until after hours. Contract Length : Unit will accept contracts from weeks+ up to March , (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!!
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and / or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP :
- Minimum Years of Experience : Required year of experience required in last years
- Traveler Experience : Accepts st time travelers
- Locals Accepted / Rate Difference : Yes
- Skills : Must be able to take heparin drips. PCA. Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management. Blood product Administration, Central line care / management, Peripheral line care / management, phlebotomy.
PICC line management, IV starts, Active RN license required. Management of dysrhythmias, O Protocol Management, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral line care / management, Isolation Precautions / PPE, Traumatic Brain injury, ortho trauma, surgucal drains, chest tubes- Emerson / Pleuravac, Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Tracheostomy Management, Wound care.
Epic documentation experience required.
Certs : BLS
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP :
- ACLS, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Pre / Post Hemodialysis Management, Management of drips, CVA, Pre / Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries RTO :

Float Requirement :
Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
Weekend Requirement :
Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend
Holiday Requirement :
Must be able to work of major holidays.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES :
- Severe injury to the bones, joints, and / or soft tissue.
- Traumatic brain injuries.
- Spine injuries, pain.
- Neurological trauma / nerve damage (small population).
- Subdural hematoma.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication) :
Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
UNIT ORIENTATION :
- hour unit orientation.
- hour organizational education. SCRUBS :
