Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : The Registered Nurse is a clinicalpractitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specificto the age of the patient population served on the assignedunits.
He / she ensures that quality care is provided in anefficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit’s standards ofcare.
He / she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission,philosophy and goals of the unit and organization. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinicalpractice.
Treats staff, physicians, patients and familieswith consideration andrespect.
Requirements
DUCATION : Graduate of an accredited program for RegisteredNursing.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : Current New Mexico RN license or current Compactstate license. BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hiredate.
All other required certifications must be obtainedwithin 6 months of hire date. If nurse has the requiredcertifications at time of hire, they must maintain thecertifications and will not have a grace period to renew.

- Bloodbornepathogen C (OR, PACU, L& D);
- Bloodbornepathogen B (otherPatient Care areas). Exposure to infectious diseases andx-rays.
Works in a clean, welllighted, ventilated smoke-free environment. Subject tostressful professional relationships. Working hours arevaried, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule andemergencies.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS : Must be able to handleemergency / crisis situations, prolonged, extensive or considerablestanding and walking.
Requires heavy physical effort toposition, push and / or transfer patients or equipment and supplies.Requires considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling andcrouching.
Ability to judge distance and space relationships,see peripherally, distinguish and identify different colors. Hearing and visual acuity within normal or correctablelimits.
Manual dexterity and fine motor coordinationrequired.
